NOGGINS
JAG Ply custom cuts Noggins in many sizes to suit your project.
So what are Noggins
Noggins, are for horizontal bracing elements used in construction, typically placed between wall studs, floor joists, or ceiling rafters. They provide additional rigidity, prevent warping, and help distribute loads evenly across the structure.
Applications of Noggins
Wall Framing
Used in timber or metal stud walls to prevent twisting or bowing of the studs.
Provide additional support for fixing wall cladding materials like drywall or plasterboard.
Floor Joists
Placed between floor joists to enhance stability and prevent movement, whilst reducing floor bounce or squeaks.
Ceiling and Roof Construction
Installed between rafters or ceiling joists to strengthen the frame and provide better load distribution.
Helps reduce vibrations and movement in ceiling structures.
Fixing Heavy Fixtures
Provides additional support behind walls for mounting heavy objects such as cabinets, handrails, and TV brackets. Also commonly used in walls in hospitals where essential emergency services equipment is attached to the wall.
